I am the type of person who never likes to be alone…unless I am in the restroom. Whether I go to the movie theater, grocery shopping, Michigan Avenue, the Student Center, or towards the Loop, I always make sure I am in good company. However, yesterday I simply decided to give a try to, what I call, “me time.”
I put on my headphones, clicked “repeat” on my iPod, and started walking towards the L station while listening to Selena Gomez’s new song, "Come and Get It." I got off at the Chicago stop and walked to the Water Tower for some well-deserved shopping. Afterwards, I got a Potbelly sandwich, and because my phone ran out of battery, I started people watching; it was surprisingly fun, you should try it! Then, I went to T.J. Maxx in search of a specific necklace…they were sold out. Lastly, I stopped by Trader Joe's and realized that the majority of the things I bought were organic. Is that healthy or what? Finally, it was time to go home.
After I did some speed walking to catch the next train and quickly ran up the stairs, the train left me behind. Of course! Twenty-five minutes later. I got to my room, took a shower, and enjoyed the most recent episode of The Vampire Diaries.
I believe being in good company is very important, as well as dedicating time to yourself, as I did in my little journey.
