52 Bagels Later...

College kids love free stuff.

That’s all there is to it. I have no money so anytime someone is offering something for free, I’m all about it. I like working at the School of Education on Friday’s because faculty usually have catered staff meetings. Also, the School of Ed professors are so nice that they bring in treats for student workers pretty often (the other day, someone brought us Sweet Mandy B's cupcakes!) The other day, I went with my roommate Tyler to Chase Bank and they had dum-dums, keychains and mirrors out for customers. Now, I’m not exactly sure what I’m going to do with a travel size mirror that says Chase on it, but I definitely took one (along with about 40 lollipops and a pig keychain).

Now that you all understand my love for free stuff you can fully appreciate what I did Tuesday morning.

Einstein’s Bagels opened up on Armitage and Sheffield (right around campus) and the first 100 people in line received coupons for a free bagel sandwich every week for a year.

Guess who was number 27?

Yes, it was me.

I dragged my two roommates, Julie and Tyler, to Einstein’s Bagels at 4:30AM and stood in line until 5:30. Most of the people in line were college kids who live around the neighborhood and I actually ran into a few of my pretty close friends.

As of Friday, January 21, 2011, I have 49 bagels left. Let’s hope I actually conserve these!

On a completely different and unrelated note, homecoming was over the weekend and I went with a bunch of friends, including fellow blogger Karim Lalani! I figured I’d include a picture of us
