New Year, New Me

If I were to describe myself in three words, it would be enthusiastic, driven, and a workaholic. When I decided to start my own tutoring business while being a full-time student, I didn’t realize how time consuming it would become. As a commuter I would wake up at 6:00am to beat the traffic, then take classes 8:00am till 2:30pm to rush home in time to eat lunch. Once it hit 3:30pm, I would tutor till 7:30pm. This was my schedule Monday-Friday for the past two years. 

Although it has not changed that much, I decided I needed something to take the stress out of my life. I realized this while talking to a friend this summer about what I do for myself. All I could think of is tutoring because of the feeling it brings me to be helping a child succeed. I started to cry thinking I didn’t have something I truly do for myself.

It was time for a change and I signed up for my first yoga class. After just 13 days into the New Year, I can feel my body becoming healthier. I am more motivated throughout the day and I have a better outlook on negative road bumps that happen in the day. I truly believe if you change your thoughts you can change your world. Yoga has changed my world.
