This past weekend, DePaul's Varsity track & field team participated in the Big East indoor conference meet in New York City at the historic venue - The Armory!

For DePaul's team, the highlight is by far the performance of shot put thrower Tim Nedow. The senior from Ontario threw A-standard Olympic qualifying! Not only does this mean Tim will be representing DePaul at the NCAA Championships but also potentially throwing for the Canadian Olympic team at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London! This is big news for DePaul and we are very excited for him. Tim has also held the title of Big East Men's Field Athlete of the Week for 5 of the past 6 weeks. Tim is currently number one in the nation and 13th in the world indoor listing for shot put.

Being the head manager for this team allowed me the chance to go to N.Y.C. and witness the great success Tim had. All I want to say on this is that Tim Nedow is just one of the many hidden gems here at DePaul University and I wish him the best of luck in his future throwing ventures.
